This is how it all begins.
Upperides was born out of a real-life struggle that many parents can relate to. When we chose a particular school for our son, Jeremiah, we were promised that a bus would take care of his daily commute. Since our work schedule made it nearly impossible to drop him off and pick him up on time, that promise felt like a blessing. But soon, we discovered the reality — the bus stop was so far from our home that it created more problems than it solved. Day after day, our son arrived late to school, and he was always the last child to be picked up in the afternoons.
One of the school officials even voiced her frustration within the first week, and we began to realize something had to change. After countless phone calls to the bus company, we finally learned that a bus was available to drop students at a nearby after-school program. The only way for our son to get closer to home was to register him in that program — something we hadn’t planned to do, but felt we had no other choice. Then, one day, it clicked. We looked at each other and said, “How many parents must go through this same struggle — not just during the school year, but even during summer break?” That moment sparked an idea, and Upperides was born.
Upperides exists for parents whose busy schedules don’t always align with their children’s school hours, after-school activities, sports, or weekend events. We’re here for families who prefer not to rely on the school bus, for single parents who need an extra helping hand, and for communities that believe every child deserves a safe, dependable, and caring ride. At Upperides, we’re more than just transportation — we’re a bridge between families, schools, and the community. We take pride in knowing that what started as one family’s challenge has grown into a service that brings peace of mind, connection, and reliability to many others.
